What Will My Child Do At Head Start?
Children will develop new skills by participating in a variety of activities, including:
- Choosing his/her own activities within planned curriculum
- Small group learning activities with other children
- Large group activities with other children
- Outdoor play (movement activities will be inside if the weather is too extreme for children to go outside)
- Having a lunch and one or two nutritional and culturally appropriate snacks daily
- Learning daily routines and other healthy habits such as brushing teeth, hand washing, and other personal hygiene and self-help skills
- Napping, resting, and learning to keep themselves quiet (if your child is in a full-day program)
