Head Start Classes


There Are 3 Types of Head Start Classes

HEAD START PLUS (FULL DAY)

  • For children three to five years old
  • Combines Head Start and child care
  • Full-day and year-round programming
  • Hours are typically 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Lunch and two snacks served each day
  • Parents transport their children
  • Requires a full-time child care subsidy and weekly parent co-pay
  • Please refer to your Child Care Contract for more information

HEAD START HALF-DAY PRESCHOOL

  • For children three to five years old
  • Classes run four half-days per week
  • Lunch and one snack is provided each day
  • Transportation may be provided
  • No fees for income eligible families

HEAD START HOME BASED PRESCHOOL

  • For children three to five years old
  • A Head Start teacher visits your home each week with activities for you and your child
  • Your child comes to our center two to three times a month for group activities (clusters) with other children (a lunch and snack is provided during clusters)
  • No fees for income eligible families
