Head Start Classes
There Are 3 Types of Head Start Classes
HEAD START PLUS (FULL DAY)
- For children three to five years old
- Combines Head Start and child care
- Full-day and year-round programming
- Hours are typically 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Lunch and two snacks served each day
- Parents transport their children
- Requires a full-time child care subsidy and weekly parent co-pay
- Please refer to your Child Care Contract for more information
HEAD START HALF-DAY PRESCHOOL
- For children three to five years old
- Classes run four half-days per week
- Lunch and one snack is provided each day
- Transportation may be provided
- No fees for income eligible families
HEAD START HOME BASED PRESCHOOL
- For children three to five years old
- A Head Start teacher visits your home each week with activities for you and your child
- Your child comes to our center two to three times a month for group activities (clusters) with other children (a lunch and snack is provided during clusters)
- No fees for income eligible families
