EARLY HEAD START
DCPC Infant/Toddler Program Caregivers Are:
LOVING & RESPONSIVE
A primary caregiver is assigned to a group of four infants and provides a nurturing and stimulating place for our children, preparing them for their move to the next program. In a typical day, you will see caregivers: tenderly rocking babies; eating at small tables while enjoying lunchtime conversations with toddlers; planning activities that support the child's emerging skills and interests; and supporting young explorers in developing their social skills with other children and adults.
The Early Head Start Family Advocate provides sensitive, family-based programming. This home-based programming is based on modeling appropriate interactions with the child, providing information to parents on appropriate expectations for their child, and providing an educational curriculum for social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth based on the individual needs of each child and family.
RESPECTFUL OF EACH CHILD'S UNIQUE PERSONALITY & CULTURE
Caregivers welcome and support each baby's development. Our experienced and qualified caregivers provide predictable routines for eating, sleeping, and diapering that are in tune with each baby's needs.
RESPONSIBLE FOR A SAFE & INTERACTIVE ENVIRONMENT
Caregivers make sure that the sleeping, eating, and play spaces are clean and safe, allowing babies to explore and learn through active play without concern for their well-being. Caregivers add materials and activities based on their observations of what makes each child happy, excited about learning, and challenged to move to the next developmental level.
